The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued a directive to block Wild Blaster and BetUS, as these online platforms have been determined to be unlawfully providing gambling services within Australia.
The ACMA has issued an order to block Wild Blaster and BetUS, which are believed to have breached the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001. The ACMA has not provided specifics regarding the particular violations, but has declared that these websites are operating illicitly in Australia.
Consequently, the ACMA has requested that Australian internet service providers restrict access to these websites.
The ACMA is authorized to take this action if operators provide prohibited interactive gambling services to Australian consumers. Blocking orders can also be issued for websites that engage in online gambling without a valid Australian license.
Furthermore, the ACMA has the authority to take action if websites publish advertisements for prohibited gambling services or unlicensed gambling operations.
Since the ACMA initially requested blocking in November 2019, 863 illegal gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked. Since the ACMA began enforcing new illegal offshore gambling regulations in 2017, an additional 218 illegal services have also exited Australia.
“Australian citizens who utilize illegal gambling services are not protected by Australian legislation,” stated the ACMA. “This implies that if an issue arises, such as the service provider withholding winnings, our laws cannot provide assistance.”
The Australian government is taking strict measures against unlawful online wagering. They have prohibited Wild Blaster and BetUS, and they have also cautioned Best Bookies’ Price for providing odds comparison services. They have also blocked five other websites: Viperspin, Just Casino, Betandplay, Play Fina, and Comic Play Casino. They are taking these actions to safeguard Australians from detrimental gambling practices.
