Delaware Sports Betting Revenue Soars 440% in March

Delawares sports betting revenue skyrocketed by a whopping 440% in March.

The betting volume in Delaware leaped 440.0% year-over-year in March, reaching $18.9 million (£15.2 million/€17.7 million). The state’s online betting market also witnessed a surge in activity.

The betting volume far surpassed Delawares $3.5 million in March of the previous year. It also climbed by 37.0% compared to $13.8 million in February of this year.

In terms of earnings, March saw $1 million in revenue. This represented an 89.2% increase year-over-year and an 83.8% increase from $560,449 in February.

The substantial year-over-year increase was attributed to the Delaware Lottery launching its inaugural online sports betting platform. The sports betting platform, powered by Rush Street Interactive (RSI) and BetRivers, officially went live in January.

In terms of performance, Delaware Park generated the highest revenue in March at $681,548, with a betting volume of $13.1 million. Harrington Raceway came in second with $176,583 in revenue and a betting volume of $3.3 million, followed by Bally’s Dover with $113,692 in revenue and a betting volume of $1.5 million.

Delawares retail operators also recorded $58,273 in monthly sports betting revenue, with a betting volume of $990,664.

Online casino revenue surpassed $4.6 million in March.
Shifting to the online casino market, total spending in March reached $136 million. This represented a 227.7% increase compared to $41.5 million in March 2023 and a 16.0% increase compared to $117.2 million in February.

About $85 was wagered by players in total in March.

Digital video lottery wagering hit a mark of $3 million, whereas digital desktop gaming wagering achieved $50.7 million.

The overall income of the online casino sector reached $46 million, reflecting a 228.6% surge from the corresponding period last year, and an 18.0% increase from the $39 million recorded in February. Digital video contributed $3.3 million to the monthly income, while desktop games contributed $1.3 million.

Delaware Park secured the top spot among individual operators, boasting a total income of $2 million from online video and desktop games, and a total expenditure of $71.1 million. Harrington Raceway came in second with $1.6 million in online betting income and total wagers of $38.9 million. Baltimore Dover trailed behind with $951,096 in revenue and total wagers of $26.1 million.

Similar to the sports wagering market, online gambling has also experienced positive effects from recent new product launches. All three operators within the state unveiled fresh online casino platforms in January.
