An Australian firm, BetMakers Technology Group, is purchasing Punting Form, a business renowned for its groundbreaking application of AI in the horse racing sector. Punting Form leverages artificial intelligence to produce critical data points such as sectional times (the speed at which a horse covers specific portions of a race) and benchmarks. This information fuels their distinctive, time-centric rating methodology for racehorses.
BetMakers views this acquisition as a significant enhancement to their standing as a premier supplier of data and technology for the worldwide horse racing industry. They intend to incorporate Punting Form’s data and offerings throughout their entire operation, with an immediate emphasis on bolstering their betting services.
This acquisition will also enable Punting Form to broaden its footprint. Their advanced “sectional time ratings” will be introduced to fresh markets such as North America, expanding upon their current presence in areas like New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
BetMakers CEO, Todd Buckingham, contends that sectional time analysis represents the future of horse racing ratings, deeming it “indispensable” for any reputable handicapping system. He perceives substantial synergy across their business and anticipates that both internal operations and external clients will derive significant advantages from the acquisition.
An Australian wagering tech enterprise, BetMakers, has procured the racing statistics and analysis company Punting Form for an initial sum of A$9 million. The agreement also encompasses prospective performance-based payments reaching up to A$17 million within the subsequent three years, contingent upon achieving specific operational, income, and profit benchmarks. Punting Form will be integrated into BetMakers’ International Wagering Services sector.
